About RCRA

The Rotary Club of River Ayeyarwady is fully committed to carrying out long-term, high-impact humanitarian services. However, true sustainable change cannot be achieved alone.
I warmly invite all members, prospective volunteers, and community partners to unite with us, combine our strengths, and collaborate to make a meaningful difference.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Mr. Aung Ko Win

Create Lasting Impact
Our Story
The Rotary Club of Ayeyarwady (RCRA) was officially formed by a dedicated group of individuals originally from a local BNMC network. Overcoming initial learning curves and language barriers during our charter year, our members have united under a shared passion for hands-on, meaningful community service. Today, we represent a growing and vibrant community of professionals driven by the desire to participate in organized charity work and build lasting fellowship.
RCRA’s 3 Areas of Focus

Our Mission: Service Above Self
Under the 2026-27 leadership, our club’s primary focus is simple: “Impact.” We are dedicated to creating sustainable, long-term benefits for our local communities in true alignment with Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.” By building strong, collaborative partnerships with other Rotary and Rotaract clubs across Myanmar—and conducting joint meetings to foster knowledge sharing—we are continuously expanding our reach.
Our Community Initiatives: We are committed to a robust, year-round calendar of service projects aimed at addressing essential community needs. Our ongoing and upcoming initiatives include:
- Medical Assistance: Sponsoring the essential travel, food, and accommodation costs for children receiving vital cleft lip and palate surgeries in Monywa.
- Nutrition Programs: Conducting monthly feeding and nutrition support programs for mothers and children across multiple locations.
- Long-Term Development: Spearheading the 3-year “River of Opportunity” project, as well as joint fundraising initiatives featuring handcrafted wood products to promote livelihood of IDP and PWD.
- Education & Infrastructure: Driving projects focused on medical education support, solar vocational training, water sanitation, and community blood donation drives.

Strategic Long-Term Initiatives
To ensure the sustainable growth of our club and deliver lasting impacts, we are spearheading several large-scale projects:
- The Inle Region Environmental Model Project: We are developing a major community-based project spanning approximately 200 acres in the Inle Lake region. This initiative will serve as a model exhibition combining environmental conservation with community development.
- Clean Water Access: We are actively implementing clean water supply projects in both the Inle region and across the Ayeyarwady Region to resolve critical water security issues.
